Mercedes-Benz Auto Glass

Mercedes-Benz is a luxury vehicle with the slogan “the best or nothing.”  The best usually comes at a price.  Mercedes glass is no different.  Although, early 2000 model vehicles don’t have the current technology build into the glass making those more affordable.

Other technology that Mercedes window glass features:

  • Solar coatings provide integrated UV protection and heat load reduction. This technology optimizes air conditioning performance and can improve fuel economy.
  • Mercedes-Benz glass and attached moldings have been tested for UV, chemical, temperature, tear and abrasion resistance.
  • Includes acoustic dampening technologies within its layering, thereby reducing wind, road, and engine noise in your cabin
  • Mercedes-Benz glass often features components including rain sensors, antenna, and heating elements configured explicitly to your vehicle’s complex electronics systems that come integrated with the genuine part and require calibration to ensure proper working condition

Mercedes-Benz Windshield Replacement

A Mercedes-Benz windshield replacement requires a highly skilled technician. The vehicles are equipped with many features only found in Mercedes.  You need a company like Abbey Rowe Auto Glass to ensure your Mercedes glass replacement is done properly. Current models have quite the list of options.

Mercedes-Benz Windshield Options

Mercedes-Benz Heated Windshield – Electric heating of the windshield glass allows it to begin clearing frost and fog as soon as you start the vehicle. There’s no need to wait for the engine to warm up the standard defroster in the climate control system.

Mercedes-Benz PRE-SAFE– The exclusive PRE-SAFE system can sense that a collision might be imminent, and help prepare for it in the precious moments leading up to it. Using a network of sensors (many of them already serving other safety systems in the vehicle) on being the forward facing camera mounted to the windshield.  PRE-SAFE can detect certain conditions that suggest an accident is about to occur, such as extreme skidding. It then tightens the front seat belts, adjusts the front head restraints and passenger seat, and can even close the windows and sunroof, all to better prepare the occupants for more effective results from the restraint systems.

Mercedes-Benz Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist- With Lane Keeping Assist, a special camera mounted to the windshield watches the markings on the pavement as you drive. If it senses that you’re drifting out of your lane, it vibrates the steering wheel. And with either system, advanced active technology can apply the brakes on one side of the vehicle, to help guide you back into your own lane.

Mercedes-Benz Adaptive Highbeam Assist- uses a dedicated camera in the windshield to scan the road ahead for the lights of other vehicles. Based on their calculated position, it varies the headlamps infinitely, not just to high or low beams, to maximize illumination without causing glare for other drivers.

Mercedes-Benz Night View Assist PLUS- Using invisible infrared beams and a special camera in she windshield, Night View Assist PLUS displays a supplemental, real-time view of the dark road ahead. It can point out and even shine the headlamps toward pedestrians it detects. And unlike thermal systems, it can sense cold objects as well.

Mercedes-Benz Magic Body Control-  Using the stereo-multipurpose windshield mounted camera of Intelligent Drive to continually scan the road surface for variations, it prepares the suspension to take action before the wheels reach them. A network of advanced sensors and electronically controlled hydraulics generates forces to counteract the effects of the road surface on ride and handling, for an uncompromised fusion of both virtues.

Mercedes-Benz Brake Assist Plus- Uses the stereo-multipurpose windshield mounted camera and radar sensors of Intelligent Drive to scan the road ahead at driving speeds up to approximately 45 mph.

Mercedes-Benz Cross-Traffic Assist- detect a potential collision with vehicles approaching from either side of an intersection ahead, or with pedestrians in the car’s path. When the driver responds to the system’s alert by braking, Brake Assist PLUS precisely applies the maximum brake force required to help prevent such an accident.
