Mercedes-Benz G-Class Windshield Replacement

2010 Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG Kompressor

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or “G-Wagen” has been around since 1979. Originally, Mercedes-Benz developed it as a military vehicle.

The exterior has changed little since 1990, with only minor updates in styling and technology. Most noticeable changes are to the power-train and interior.

These are one of the most expensive Mercedes-Benz production models. The Current G550 starts at $115,400 and the G63 AMG can reach $175,000.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class Windshield & Auto Glass

One very unique characteristic of the G-Wagen is the door glass is flat and interchangeable. There is only one part for the front drivers door and front passenger door. The same goes for the rear doors. Just because they are interchangeable does not mean that they are less expensive. A door glass replacement will cost you over $350 dollars for aftermarket glass and the price goes up if you want a Mercedes-Benz part. With that being said, if you drive a $150,000 vehicle a few hundred dollars is not going to break the bank.

The windshield replacement cost for a G-Class is over $1000 dollars depending on the vehicle options.  Even older model vehicles without many features are costly. The G-Class is rare compared to other Mercedes vehicles. Windshield replacement parts are not as common contributing to the higher cost.
