2015 – 2017 Honda Fit Windshield Replacement

A Honda Fit windshield replacement can be challenging due to the large sloping glass. The installation is simple and pretty strait forward. The Honda Fit has been around since 2001 and is a “Mini” mini van. It is currently on it’s 3rd generation.

In 2015 there is only one windshield available. This is good news because it helps keep the replacement cost lower and eliminates accidentally selecting the wrong windshield. Many late model vehicles can have five or more different windshields depending on options and trim levels.

For a proper installation make sure the cowl is removed. This will ensure there is enough room to properly set the new windshield. This is a very large glass requiring great and precision.

The windshield replacement takes about an hour. After the technician installs the new windshield they will use tape (blue painters tape) to hold the windshield in place during the curing process. The tape may be removed after 8 hours or over night.

Abbey Rowe Auto Glass uses a quick set, fast drying urethane with a 1 hour “drive away” time. It is very important that the glue has at least one hour to cure before driving. This is for your safety, the windshield play an important role in the structure and function of your vehicle. In the event of a collision the passenger side air bags defect off the windshield to protect the passengers. If this happens before the glue has proper time to cure, the air bag may cause the windshield pop out of the vehicle.
